Christopher "Chris" Lee Nelson

Christopher “Chris” Lee Nelson, 51, of Nederland, died Thursday, July 2, 2020. He was born on December 17, 1968, in Port Arthur, to Gloria Ann Baker Nelson and Leland Richard Nelson. Chris was an avid Louisiana State University fan. He also enjoyed playing pool and spending time with his grandkids.

Survivors include his mother, Gloria Ann Hargraves, of Crowley, Louisiana; children, Brittney Nelson and Donnie Burnaman, of Nederland and Chris and Yvonne Nelson, of Orange; grandchildren, Kirt Frank, Jr.; Leland Frank; Autumn Leggett; Haylee Nelson; Christian Nelson; and Braylee Nelson; siblings, Troy and Stacy Baker; Tammy Hargraves; Miranda and Gustavo Vasquez; and Coy and Hannah Nelson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, which he adored.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard “Pop” Nelson and step mother Marella Nelson.

A gathering of Mr. Nelson’s family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
