Christopher “Kyle” Tantillo

July 26, 1970 - October 22, 2022

Christopher “Kyle” Tantillo, 52, of Kountze, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 22, 2022, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on July 26, 1970, in Beaumont, to Helen Ann Kowalski Tantillo and Anthony Gayle Tantillo.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Tracy Tantillo; children, Adam Tantillo and his wife, Dawn of Kountze; Meagan Ouzts and her husband, Dalton, of Orange; grandchildren, Case, Rush, and Kylie Jo Tantillo; mother and father, Helen and Anthony Tantillo, of Kountze; siblings, Terri Hefty and her husband, Brian, of Houston; Marcus Tantillo and his wife, Shelly, of Kountze; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless other family members and friends.

Kyle worked for Brookshire Brothers in Kountze for 19 years where he served as a meat processor and meat market manager. He then left and continued to work for the City of Lumberton in the maintenance department for the past 5 years. To know Kyle was to know pure joy and unfailing kindness. Kyle lived by very simple rules; love your family, help when you can, and keep the faith.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Kyle was a man that was constantly there for anyone in need and a huge light in this world. His favorite pastimes were anything outdoors, playing with his grandchildren, and spending time making jokes and memories with his closest friends and family.

A gathering of Kyle’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton, with interment to follow at Hooks Cemetery, Kountze.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 1535 W Loop S, Houston, TX 77027. https://www.stjude.org/donate

I worked with Kyle for 12 years, from the time I was a willfull, trouble making 16 year old til I had two kids of my own. Kyle always had time to listen to my problems when I was a kid and give me advice, which I soundly ignored. It was a pleasure growing up and working with him as a peer. He always helped keep me calm when I was stressed out over everything, and he always brightened my day. He set the tone for the room. When he walked in smiling, bad moods were erased. He was always telling funny stories and talking with customers, who absolutely adored him. I’ve yet to work with someone whom I admired as much as him and when he left the store, he left a gaping hole. I loved when he’d drop in to visit and catch up with everyone, and knowing that’s not something to look forward to anymore is sobering. I worked with Adam and Meagan and they were some of the most respectful and hard-working young kids. They’ve grown into beautiful adults and I know Kyle and Tracy couldn’t be more proud. You guys have my sincerest condolences and I wish you nothing but comfort in the years to come. Kyle may be gone from this Earth but the impacts and ripples he made will never leave. God Bless you guys.
