Christopher Leo French
On Thursday, October 26, 2023, Christopher Leo French, the man, the myth and the legend known for his love of travel, passed away. Chris was born on June 18, 1971, to his parents Frederick Tracy French and Ruby Nadine Carter.
He was a Journeyman Electrician by trade but was also an accomplished self-taught guitarist. He enjoyed bird watching, the outdoors, and true crime. Chris believed in working hard and playing harder.
Throughout his travels in the United States, he frequently visited Colorado, Yellowstone, Alaska, and New Mexico. His brothers, Ron and Shane, wished he had been a little less of a traveler as they had the honor of covering that vast territory, collecting his belongings, and bringing them to Texas where Chris had lived out his last days. They felt honored by his nod of approval as they unloaded the truck.
Christopher was a proud stepfather to Clinton, Brendan, and Dawson. He was a mentor to them and his love for them never wavered. He often put his family and friends’ needs before his own and took on the responsibility of raising his niece, Elizabeth, when he was 21 years old. Elizabeth still sees him as a father figure more than an uncle.
Christopher was the youngest of eight siblings and will be missed by his sisters Sherry, Katherine, Mary, and Jane, and his brothers Ron and Shane. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Tracy French, his brother, Frederick Tracy French III, and his nephews, David and Christopher Augsburger.
Christopher will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
Cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
I will surely miss you my brother and I know you are free from pain and Happy. I will see you again and will know you more than ever!
Love you
