Christopher Thomas-Leday, Sr.

Christopher Lee Thomas, 39, of Stowell, died Monday, July 11, 2022, at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital. He was born August 25, 1982, in Galveston, to Mary Thomas Leday and Eugene Leday, Sr.

Christopher loved cooking and was known for his Cajun dishes and enjoyed dancing to zydeco music. He worked with his father as a plumber and at TBCD as an operator. Christopher will be remembered as a loving father, son, brother, and friend.

Survivors include his children, Ashlyn Murphy-Leday and Christopher Lee Thomas-Leday, Jr., both of Winnie; grandson, Kylan Ceasar; mother, Mary Leday; grandmother, Mary Ella Thomas, both of Stowell; sister, Crystal Leday, of Stowell; brother, Eugene Leday, Jr. and fiancé, Shalandra, of Beaumont; nephew, Kingston Leday; niece, Caitlyne Guillory; goddaughter, Jasmine Batiste; mother of his children, Julie Murphy, of Winnie; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends; best friend, Henry Harmon, of Stowell; and godmother, Cora George, of Stowell.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene “Geno” Leday, Sr.; grandparents, Adrian and Viola Leday and Reverend Lionel “John” Thomas, Sr.; and godfather, Warren Guillory.

A gathering of Christopher’s family and friends will begin 10:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie. Serving as pallbearers will be T.J. White, Lester Pinkard, Billy Thomas, Jr., Brian Vigers, Cory Tyler, and Brandon Green. Honorary pallbearers are Henry Harmon, Cody Thibodeaux, Lawrence David, Jr., Steve Harmon, Eugene Leday, Jr., and TW Leday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bobby Ward Memorial Scholarship.
