Clarycia “Dee” Whitfill

Clarycia “Dee” Whitfill, 71, of Silsbee died Friday, May 16, 2025. She was born on December 29, 1953, in Amarillo, to Bessie Lee Terry Riggins and Royse Bernard Riggins. She was named Clarycia Gail Whitfill, but was affectionately called Dee to whoever met her.

Dee married Gary Whitfill on August 13, 1972, and they had four children: Amy, Jenny, Ben, and Stacy. Dee devoted herself to raising her four children while serving the Lord in the capacity of a children’s minister. She was a devoted grandmother, often traveling hours to help care for her grandchildren.

Dee is survived by her husband, Gary Whitfill; children, Jennifer Hedges and her husband, David, of Petrolia; Ben Whitfill of Silsbee; and Stacy Blaylock and her husband, Steven, of Rockwall; grandchildren, Chase Hedges, Carly Hedges, A’Myia Hedges, Zachary Hedges, Tracen Hedges, Malachi Hedges, Chance Hedges, Charlie Whitfill, Emma Blaylock, Isaac Blaylock, Evan Blaylock, and Ava Blaylock.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Royse Riggins; daughter, Amy Maxwell; and daughter-in-law, Laura Whitfill.

A graveside service for Mrs. Whitfill will begin at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Hardin Memorial Park, 418 Cemetery Road, Silsbee, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
