Cornelio Lopez-Brena

Cornelio Lopez-Brena, 60, of Victoria, died Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Citizens Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1962, in Guanajuato, Mexico, to Hilaria and Cornelio Lopez, Sr.

Cornelio worked as a concrete finisher in construction for over thirty years. He enjoyed singing and dancing, fishing, and trips to the casino. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Ana Lopez; sons, Cornelio Lopez III and wife, Griselda; Alexxis Lopez; Luis Reyes and wife, Joyce; and Omar Valente; daughters, Maria Rodriguez and husband, Edward; Michelle Avila and husband, Felix; Ana Reyes; Matilda Reyes; Lydia Vasquez and husband, Rico; thirty-five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and sisters, Yolanda Anaya and Amalia Torres and husband, Mario.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Manuel; Miguel; and Guadalupe Lopez; and sister, Florencia Lopez.

A gathering of Mr. Lopez’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the family’s house, 305 West Elm Street, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with his interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
