Craig Bonner
Hubert Craig Bonner, 70, of Nome, Texas, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 15, 1954, in Beaumont to Louis and Dauphine Bonner.
From a young age, his parents instilled his commitment to family, work ethic, and integrity. He grew up working on his family’s rice farm and cattle operation with his father. During his college years at Sam Houston State University, Craig farmed rice of his own. He could often be seen around the farm in his Red International Case tractors, which he was a big fan of. After retiring from Transco/Williams Gas Pipeline, he spent lots of time in west Texas hunting and at the lake house fishing at Sam Rayburn. He also he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at cattle shows and softball games.
Craig is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Judy Bonner; daughters, Lisa Ramirez and her husband, Noel, and Jodie Cohen and her husband, Kevin, all of Nome; grandchildren, Abbie “Peanut”; Lexie “Punk”’; Gunner “Gun” Ramirez; his dogs, Rip and Loretta; and five granddogs, favorite among them being June; sisters, Barbara Nunez and her husband, Bryan, of Nome, and Louise Glenn and husband, Jamey of College Station; brother-in-laws, David Pelt and his wife, Connie, and Bobby Pelt and his wife, Julie, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Wall.
Craig is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Dauphine Bonner.
A gathering of Mr. Bonner’s family and friends will begin 10:00 a.m. with his funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. His interment will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake.
