Craig Odelle Coplen, Sr.

October 7, 1948 - February 11, 2023

Craig Odelle Coplen, Sr., 74, of Kountze, died Saturday, February 11, 2023. He was born on October 7, 1948, in Port Arthur, to Margaret Mills Coplen and James O. Coplen.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Coplen; sons Craig O. Coplen, Jr. and Carl James Coplen and his wife, Amanda, all of Kountze; daughter-in-law, Carol Lee Coplen of Kountze; grandchildren, Shy Foshee and her husband, Nick, of Kountze; Patience Coplen of Kountze; Morgan Fontenot and her husband, Jansen, of Kountze; Caden Coplen and his wife, Makenzie, of Kountze; Kristen Ingram and her husband, Gage, of Liberty; Abbie Coplen, Cameryn Coplen and Cole Coplen all of Kountze; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Jimmye Duhon and her husband, Larry and Julie Cowart and her husband, Kit, all of Kountze. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Craig was a residence of Kountze for the past 50 years, where he served as Kountze school board president and Kountze little league president. Craig owned and operated his surveying company, B-Line Surveyors, for 32 years before he retired in 2023. Craig was a dedicated family man who loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be known for his loving and giving spirit. He will be missed by many.

His cremation was handled by Broussard’s Crematorium.

    Craig was a great guy. He was always happy and kind and I enjoyed visiting with him when he came in the City of Lumberton permit office. May the Lord wrap his arms around his family during this time.
