Creola Susie “Tootsie” Moore

March 22, 1926 - August 3, 2025

Sister Creola S. Moore, 99, of Anahuac, passed peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025. Daughter of the late Fay and Dora Humphrey, was born March 22, 1926, in Double Bayou, Texas

Early in life she chose to serve God at Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Double Bayou, Texas. She believed in helping others. She met no strangers. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and a devoted Wife.

She was the third child born of 6 children.

She is survived by her sister, Alice Rivon; loving children Michael Moore Sr. and wife, Tina, of Double Bayou, and Grace Moore, of Baytown Texas; grandchildren, Karen, Wes, Les, Tiffany, Michael Jr, Janika, Keffer, and Mikhaelis; and a host of great grandkids, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jausha Sr.; parents, Fay and Dora; son, Josh Jr.; sisters, Allie, Doretha, and Nora; and brother, Morris.

A gathering of Mrs. Moore’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral services at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2025, at First Baptist Church Anahuac, 405 Magnolia Avenue South, Anahuac, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her interment will follow at Martha Godfrey Cemetery, Double Bayou.

    I did not know Ms Tootsie, or anyone in her family, so I have no tangible reason for offering condolences. But I can tell from her photograph alone that she was a great lady, and her death represents a loss for us all!
