Curtis “CJ” Brottem
Curtis “CJ” Brottem, 66, of Beaumont, died Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, Houston. He was born June 22, 1956, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Deloris Bishop Brottem and Joseph John Brottem.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Diana Brottem; children, Joey Brottem and his wife, Sarah; Jeremy Brottem and his wife, Crystal; Jared Brottem; grandchildren, Kalee Brottem; Brianna Brottem; Austin Brottem; Connor Brottem; Victoria Brottem; Kate Brottem; siblings, Tom Brottem; Tim Brottem; Dennis Brottem; and Ellie Brottem.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Cheryl Ensley.
A gathering of Mr. Brottem’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 5, 2023, at Broussard’s, with his interment will follow at China Cemetery, China.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ali Osman, Dr. Raja Chennupati, Dr. Chinualumogu Nwakile, and the ICU staff at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont and Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute.

He had a pureness and kindness that touched and blessed others in life’s path, as well as was a wonderful child of God and friend. Our prayers are with the family and their hurting hearts at this time. I’m sure he is always with you in spirit and he is ecstatically enjoying his new beautiful body in heaven. We miss him and pray for God’s loving arms to embrace you and your family with his comfort and love. Three weeks ago, CJ said and reminded me, “put everything in the Good Lord’s hands”.
