Dalene Socia

Dalene Socia, 70, of Groves, died Thursday, July 17, 2025. She was born on November 27, 1954, in San Augustine, to Lera B. Ackins and Charles Edward Evans.

Dalene loved being outside. She could be found enjoying her time while crabbing, going for a swim, or camping. She was also known for how much she enjoyed cooking and spending time talking with friends. To Dalene though, nothing was better than the time she spent with her family, to her, this was what she enjoyed above all else.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Socia; daughters, Eloise Havard; Sharon Lozano and husband, Fego; and Sheila Holland and husband, Trey; son, Ray Socia and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Brean, Brian, Paige, Railey, Jose, Kailey, Leo, Jerry, Tisha, Kayla, Burley, Alexis, and many more; brothers, Thomas Evans; Curtis Evans; Edward Evans; Eric Evans and wife, Kay; Jerry Evans; William Evans and wife, Angel; and David Evans; sisters, Glenda Gary, Darthy Evans, Sharon Evans, and Darlen Evans.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Joey Socia and Ricky Bottom; and brothers, Chester Evans and Gilbert Evans.

A gathering of Mrs. Socia’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 28, 2025, at Grapevine Missionary Baptist Church, 186 County Road 4255, Bronson, Texas, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12^th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Evans Cemetery, San Augustine.
