Dan Rutman
Dan Rutman, 59, of Beaumont, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 23, 1965, to Lois Hertzman Rutman and Rabbi Herbert Samuel Rutman, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In his free time Dan enjoyed bowling, and detailed hand painted model airplanes. Dan was an active member of The Gladiators and Hi-Nooners bowling leagues. He also enjoyed watching University of Texas football and Astros baseball. These hobbies brought him joy, and allowed him to spend time with family and friends.
Dan is survived by his wife, Bené Rutman of over 31 years; mother, Lois Rutman of Austin; sons, Jordan Rutman and significant other, Meagan Cardenas, of San Antonio and Sam Rutman of Beaumont; brother, Dr. Steve Rutman and his wife, Sharon, of Austin; brother-in-law, Seth Dugan and his wife, Paige, of Riverview, Florida; sister-in-law, Ila Owers of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members; and the cat, Wally.
Dan is preceded in death by his father, Rabbi Herbert Rutman and brother-in-law, Peter Owers.
The Rutman family extends our gratitude to the associates and doctors of Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth, for the compassion and care we received.

A gathering of Mr. Rutman’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Temple Emanuel, 1120 Broadway, Beaumont. His interment will follow at Hebrew Rest Cemetery, Beaumont.

Dan and family were our next door neighbors in the early 80s when we were all in high school. His passing is sad news. May his memory be a blessing.
It was a pleasure to meet and have Dan as a loyal customer of my husband’s barber shope.he was jolly had that special sparkle in his eye. His personality was truly a testament of who he was…rest my friend darlene hall
