Daniel R. Rubio

August 6, 1950 - September 21, 2025

Daniel Rubio, a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend, passed away unexpectedly on September 21st at the age of 75. He was born on August 6,1950 in Victoria, Texas, to Delores Reyes and Daniel Garcia Rubio. Raised in childhood in Bloomington, Texas, his family moved to Beaumont in the ’60’s. Now a resident of Sour Lake’s Countrywood Estates, Daniel leaves behind a legacy defined by love, strength, and selfless dedication to his family and community.

A 1969 graduate of Beaumont High School, Daniel’s life took a defining turn when he met the love of his life, Delia (Dee) Rubio. Their 58-year bond with 56 years of marriage was a shining example of enduring love, partnership, and faith—one that brought countless blessings to their family and all who knew them.

Daniel was a standout linebacker for the Beaumont High Royal Purples Football team. Though undersized for the position, he played with unmatched determination, intelligence, and grit—qualities that earned him the titles of team captain and All-District recognition.

Professionally, Daniel dedicated over 37 years to E.I. DuPont de Nemours. His favorite unit was Nordel where he rose as Maintenance Supervisor and was a respected and trusted leader, known for his tireless work ethic and genuine care and concern for his team.

But it was his role as a family man that Daniel held most dear. He never missed a single practice or game for his two sons, coaching them in little league early on. He later cherished every moment spent coaching and cheering on his three grandsons in every sport they played. Always the first to arrive and the last to leave, he was a powerful symbol of support whose presence spoke volumes without saying a word. Daniel volunteered to mow the ballfields where his grandsons played, a role he took on with much pride. This was one of the many selfless acts that earned and endeared Daniel with everyone calling him ‘PawPaw Rubio’ in his community by all his grandson’s friends, including others and their parents as well.  PawPaw loved them all and never failed to make friends wherever he was.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Delia Marie Rubio; his sons, Daniel Rubio III (Sheila) and Robert Rubio (Mandy); and his four grandchildren, Christian (Lainey) both Marines deployed to Japan, Robert, Gavin, and Ellie. He is also survived by his sister, Rosie Garcia (Alfred), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Fanny Hernandez.

His unwavering devotion to family, humble strength, and loving heart will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Daniel’s spirit lives on in every story shared, every lesson passed down, and every life he touched.

A Rosary for Mr. Rubio will be recited at 12:00 p.m. with his memorial service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.
