D’anne DeMoss McGown
D’anne DeMoss McGown, 72, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022. She was born in Longview, to Polly and Curtis DeMoss.
After high school, she attended Texas Christian University and made many lifelong friends. Upon graduation she moved to Houston where she worked at Fulbright and Jaworski and soon met Pat on a blind date. She quickly realized that they were a perfect match. They were married a year later and moved to Beaumont.
D’anne earned a place in her community. She was active in many organizations which included Trinity United Methodist Church; St. Anne Catholic School; Magnolia Garden Club; Buckner’s Children and Family Services; Neches River Festival; Junior League of Beaumont; and Meals on Wheels.
Simple things in life made D’anne happy! She could be seen driving around town checking on her friends- even better with a diet coke from Sonic in hand. D’anne loved watching Netflix series with Pat and having a hamburger from any of the many burger joints around town. As her life began to be filled with new and more challenging health issues, she doggedly faced them. She picked up her walker and kept going. She wanted to be independent but enjoyed companionship as she walked her walk. From weekly hair appointments to fun lunch dates, you would watch her steadily make her way. D’anne became our inspiration on how to handle adversity. Right beside her with his loving ability to bring humor in difficult times was Pat.
Survivors include her husband of forty-six years, Pat McGown; son, Patrick and his wife, Susannah; two adored grandsons, Jackson and Carter; and sister-in-laws, Mary Beth Messina and her husband, Joseph; and Lynn McGown.
D’anne is preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to thank Rhonda Gobert for the loving care, attention, and friendship she showed D’anne over these past three years. Also, much appreciation to Dr. Bob Birdwell for being a constant during their difficult days.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church; 3430 Harrison Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77706

Pat. Having known you for most of my life, I am so sad for your loss. D’Anne was so gracious to me when I stayed with you back in ’15 while attending the BHS 50th. She certainly was a winner. Keep the faith my friend. Curtis Comeau

I am heartbroken to learn of D’anne’s passing. D’anne welcomed me to Beaumont when Jay and I married and moved in down the street on Ivy Lane. She especially loved seeing Brad when he was a little guy. We always enjoyed running into each other through the years. My condolences to you.
Sending you prayers and love on the passing of your beloved D’anne. May God’s grace cover, carry, and hold you close in the days ahead.
