Darwin Hodge
Darwin C. Hodge, 89, of Port Neches, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born September 22, 1932, in Mora, Louisiana, to Hazel Abigail Hillman and Ottis Bethel Hodge.
Darwin retired from Star Enterprise in 1994 after forty-three years of service. He was a dedicated member of Memorial Church of Christ, Port Arthur. Darwin loved to work with his hands, and he adored spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Jessie Hodge, of Port Neches; children, Larry Hodge and wife, Elizabeth, of Village Mills; Dennis Hodge and wife, Tracy; and Stanton Hodge and wife, Treva, all of Port Neches; niece, Barbara Ann Piatti and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Charlie Hodge; Holly Hoyler and husband, Andrew; Deanna Hodge; Samantha DeVillier and husband, Jacob; Weston Hodge; and Walker Hodge; great-grandchildren, Delilah Hodge and Benjamin DeVillier; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
A gathering of Mr. Hodge’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2022, at Memorial Church of Christ, 2525 Aero Drive, Port Arthur. A private entombment will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, at a later date.

Darwin Hodge will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of meeting him. Dennis would always speak of his dad respectfully about Darwin being a welder at Texaco, Deacon at the Church of Christ, snow skiing vacations, and working on cars in his garage. I’m sure there are many more people who would agree. As a contract welder had the opportunity to work a shutdown with Darwin. He was a positive inspiration to my welding career. He not only talked about the HOLY BIBLE, he lived it and showed it by example.
Miss Jessie, my heart broke when Wesley told me about Darwin. I wish I lived closer so I could come be with you , Larry, Dennis, Stanton and Barbara. We have lost too many loved ones in the last two years, but know that they are in a better place. Don’t you know that he and Daddy have already started talking about the spring garden. Love to you and know that I am thinking about you and your family. I remember the picture that is posted and is how I will always remember him.
