David Tilman Edgar

August 22, 1941 - August 20, 2021

David T. Edgar, Sr., 79, of Port Neches, Texas, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021. He was born on August 22, 1941, in Warren, Texas, to Wayne and Lois Lane Edgar.

David was a graduate of Texas A&M University. He was a very proud Aggie and member of the A&M Corps of Cadets. David served as Commander of Company F1 and was a member of the Ross Volunteer Association, serving as an escort for the Governor of Texas. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, and playing pool. He loved family gatherings and was very dedicated to his family’s business, Western Auto, which later became Nederland Hardware Supply.

Survivors include his children, David Edgar, Jr. and wife, Carol, of Spring, Texas; Charles Edgar and wife, Wendy, of Port Neches; Richard Edgar and wife, Vicki, of Boise, Idaho; Chad Edgar and wife, Heather, of Port Neches; and Amanda Falgout and husband, David, of Port Neches; longtime beloved friend, Jackie Edgar of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Joel, Jordan, Brennan, Dakota, Alexis, Kala, David, Dayne, Joshua, Jonah, Rease, Hayden, Linley, Jace, Gavin, Kennadie, Gabbi, and Bailee; six great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Blount of Covington, Louisiana; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Kristopher Edgar; sister, Mary Wooten and her husband, James, and their daughter, Jill; and brother-in-law, Jim Blount.

Cremation arrangements for Mr. Edgar were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 N. 12th Street, Nederland, with a memorial service to be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Edgar’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
