Dean Lee Troup

Dean Lee Troup, 56, of Kountze, died Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Ascension Seton Hays Hospital in Kyle.  He was born on June 28, 1965, in Youngstown, Ohio and adopted by Renate Alfriede Alice Reich and Lynn Morris Troup.

Dean may not have been born in Texas, but he quickly made Kountze his home, raising his family there and dedicating his life to protecting and caring for the people of Kountze and South-East Texas as a Firefighter, having been with the Kountze Volunteer Fire Department for thirty-seven years and thirty-two years as a Paramedic for many of the EMS providers that have come and gone within Hardin and Jefferson Counties such as Beaumont, Lumberton, and Sour Lake EMS, as well as private EMS companies like Williams Diamond EMS, Eastex EMS, and Priority One EMS. The only thing he was more passionate about than serving and caring for his community was his family. Dean was a dedicated family man that was committed to helping his wife and children achieve their dreams and goals no matter what they may have been and was always exceptionally proud of each and every one of them.

He is survived by his wife, Tiffany Troup; children, Evelyn Barnhill and her husband, Trey, of Wildwood; Kimma Troup of Austin; Karagan Stuart-Coleman and Terrance, of Round Rock; Cierra Stuart of Lumberton; and Tyler Boyd, Karly Boyd, and Addison Boyd, all of Kountze; grandchildren, Clayton Fountain, Hannah Fountain, and Milo Blankenship; mother, Renate Allen and her husband, Douglas, of Burton; and father, Lynn Troup of Arlington; siblings, Marc Troup and his wife, Tammy, of Grapevine and Chad Troup of Fort Worth; his brothers and sisters of the Kountze Volunteer Fire Department; his dogs, Eeyore and Blaze; and cats, Cash and Nicholai.

Dean is preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Allen; brother, Michael Reich; and his late wife, Kristen Troup.

A gathering of Dean’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Broussard’s. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local Volunteer Fire Department or EMS.
