Delores Irene Moye
Delores Irene Moye, 87, of Beaumont, peacefully entered the presence of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, Friday, October 24, 2025. She was born on July 14, 1938, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Merle Diane Duke McGonegel and Edwin Frank McGonegel.
Delores graduated from South Park High School in 1956 and still had many friends from her childhood with whom she stayed in contact throughout her life. After graduation, Delores attended Stephen F. Austin State College where she majored in English, was involved in what is now known as Alpha Chi Omega sorority and was a cheerleader for the SFA Lumberjacks. She met and fell in love with the love of her life, Ronnie Moye who was 4 years older. They married on June 7, 1958, after her sophomore year in college, just shy of her 20th birthday. They started their newlywed life in Port Arthur and ended up in Beaumont where they raised their 2 daughters.
Delores was a devoted follower of Christ, which was evident in the way she lived and loved others. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and wife. She had many hobbies including sewing, hosting themed parties, game nights and watching old movies. She adored her tennis team and traveled to State several times. Later in life she took up a love for golf which was the center of much travel with Ronnie and weekly games with friends. She was a lover of history, specifically the Civil War and WWII. You would always see her with a book or her Kindle nearby, most likely reading WWII historical fiction. Ronnie and she had many good friends who they traveled with and shared many wonderful adventures and memories.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Ronnie Moye; daughters, Robin Moye Howard and her husband, David, of Dallas and Karol Moye Theiss and her husband, Talbot, of Beaumont; grandchildren, David Landram Bates Howard of Dallas and Graceanne Elisabeth Howard Webb and her husband, Merritt, of Bentonville, Arkansas; sister, Mrs. Susan Stith of Kansas City, Missouri; sister-in-law, Mrs. Paula Moye of Nederland; and nieces and nephews, Spencer Stith and his wife, Leslie and Dana Stith Harding and her husband, Paige, all of Kansas City, Missouri and Lisa Moye Knight and her husband, Craig, of Medina.
She is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Linda Gail Moye; and brother-in-law, Don Moye.
