Deloris Lorraine Schaefer

Deloris Lorraine Schaefer, 88, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Christus Southeast Texas- St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on January 7, 1937, to Versie Colegrove Adkins and Fred Adkins, in Lundale, West Virginia.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Cortez and her husband, Ben, Jr., of Beaumont and Karen Fant of Vidor; grandchildren, Deloris Peloquin and her husband, Shannon, of Iowa, Louisiana; Saminia Llyod and her husband, Kevin, of Missouri; Rika Williams of Austin; Benjamin Cortez of Beaumont; John Fant and his wife, Halea, of Silsbee; and Patrick Fant and his wife, Nicole, Sanford Fant III and his wife, Hannah, and Tondayla Fant, all of Vidor; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl David Schaefer; five sisters; and three brothers.

A gathering of Mrs. Schaefer’s family and friends will be from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
