Dennis Theall

August 27, 1954 - November 5, 2021

John “Dennis” Theall, 67, died peacefully on November 5, 2021, at his residence in Lumberton, Texas.

Dennis was born on August 27, 1954, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas, to Joseph Dalton Theall and Anna Jean Baldwin Theall. He graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1976 and worked and retired as a chemical engineer from Exxon Mobil.

Dennis was a devoted dad and granddad. He enjoyed Sunday lunches and visits with his mother and family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved spending time and spoiling his dog, Casey.

Fishing Fridays, dove hunting, family trips, weekend getaways, and family cruising added joys to his life.

He loved playing golf, baseball, traveling, and scuba diving. He was up for good food, family, and lots of laughs.

On September 13, 1975, and March 28, 1978, respectively he welcomed his two beautiful daughters, who then brought grandsons and great-grandsons in his life. He was an awesome friend to many.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Dalton Theall; grandparents, Andrew Jackson Theall and Marie Aurelia Hanks Theall and Jack Baldwin, Sr. and Annie Clyde Dennis Baldwin.

He is survived by his mother, Anna Jean Theall of Beaumont; brothers, Joseph Andrew Theall of Beaumont and James Christopher Theall and his wife, Eve McCreary of Lumberton; sister, Jean Case and her husband, Curtis Case, of Beaumont; daughters, Laura Sharp and her husband, Elvin Sharp, of Vidor and Christina Phelps and her husband, Curtis Phelps, of Beaumont; grandsons, Justin Tinsley and his wife, Mary Tinsley of Vidor; Terran Sharp and his wife, Alicia Sharp, of Vidor; Cullen Tinsley of Vidor; Joel Taylor Phelps of Beaumont; and Bryce Taylor of Vidor; and great-grandsons, Lane Sharp, Wayne Tinsley, Kaiden Tinsley, John Tinsley, and Ryder Sharp.

He will be truly missed. Always loved and never forgotten.

A graveside service for Mr. Theall will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2021, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
