Dolores Mae Anderson
Dolores Mae Dahl Anderson, 95, of Kountze, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 3, 2025. She was born May 30,1929 in Parsons, Kansas, to Verdie Dahl and Theodore Reuben Dahl, Sr.
Dolores and the Dahl family moved to Texas when she was thirteen. They settled in the Little Rock community where the Little Rock Assembly of God Church became an important part of their lives. Dolores loved to sing and often sang solos in church. Later she sang with her dad, who was the song leader, and other family members. Some of their favorite songs were several that her dad had written. Dolores was a longtime member of the church and was very active in church activities. She was known for her great desserts at church socials and grilled cheese sandwiches after Sunday night services.
Dolores met “the love of her life” in Texas, Manuel Anderson. They married in 1946 after Manuel had returned from serving on a destroyer in World War II. They remained married until his passing in January of 2013.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Anderson Hahn and her husband, Greg, of Tomball; son, Roger Anderson of Kountze; granddaughter, Amy Roberts Georgas of Silsbee; grandson, Chris Anderson of Katy; grandson, Eric “Andy” Anderson and his wife, Thuyen, of Magnolia; six great grandchildren, Taylor Georgas of Hammond, Louisiana; Garrett Georgas of Silsbee; Ava Anderson of Katy; Christopher “C.J.” Anderson, Jr. of Katy; Terrance Le of Magnolia; and Rylee Anderson of Magnolia.
A gathering of Mrs. Anderson’s family and friends will be 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Little Rock Assembly of God Church, 5970 Highway 326, Kountze. Her interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.
The family would like to thank the staff at Paradigm of Kountze for their care; John Brown for his ice cream sundaes and floats and the Gentiva Hospice nurses, aides, and social workers; her roommate and “guardian angel,” Joan Johnson; the Kountze Church of Christ for their Wednesday night singing and visitation; and all the family and friends who visited her. This meant so much to her. She loved the time spent with each of you. A special thanks to Mrs. Cloud, who volunteers in the hair salon on Wednesdays. That made Wednesday one of her favorite days with her styled hair, Bingo, and singing in the evening with the Church of Christ.

Karen and Roger, I am so sad to hear that your Mom passed away. Today is June 13th and I just found out. She was always so sweet to me and I was always so happy to visit with her when we ran into each other over the years. There was something mischievous in her eyes and smile! Prayers to you both. She was a great lady and will be missed.
Prayers for yo family. Sorry for your loss.
Roger, I stumbled across this morning, and I would like to say how vary sorry I am for your lose. Although I did not have the pleasure of knowing your mother personally, I did have the pleasure in knowing you many years ago, , I was quire fond of you and looked to you. knowing myself what it is to lose a mother, my heart goes out to you and your family. The loss of a mother no matter the age, is something that even the kindest words cannot ease. You’ll be in my thought and prayers.

I will certainly miss seeing Ms. Anderson on Wednesday nights at the nursing home., and most of all how she never needed to look in the hymnal and knew all the words to all the songs we sang. My love and prayers are with all of the family.
Karen and Roger I am so sorry for your loss my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families losing a mom leaving a big hole in your heart 💜
Our family was privileged to get to know the Anderson family when my Uncle was in Pine Arbor and shared a room with Mr Anderson! Our lives were enriched by the friendship we made with them!!
Karen and Roger know that our prayers are with you and your family!!
I am saddened to read about Ms. Anderson. I work at the nursing home Mr. Anderson was at and grew to love them both. She was there everyday looking our for him and they truly defined love.
My prayers to the family. May God grant each of you comfort. I know they both are rejoicing being together again.
