Don Larry “L.D.” Thompson

October 30, 1952 - October 27, 2022

Don Larry “L.D.” Thompson, 69, of Lumberton, passed away peacefully in his home Thursday, October 27, 2022.  He was born on October 30, 1952, in Pasadena, to Lona Mae Cotton Thompson and D.C. Thompson.

L.D. was a natural born leader.  With an 8th grade education, he worked his way up to Project Manager for Aramco as well as other major refineries.  He enjoyed traveling to many different places like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Colorado, including Thailand, where he met Pinn and they married February 21, 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Pinn Thompson; son, Jeremy Thompson and his wife, Judy, of San Antonio and Justin Thompson of Dallas; daughter, Angie Thompson of Lumberton; daughter-in-law, Renee Carrell; grandchildren, Krysten “Christian” Thompson, Brooke Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Eli Carrell, Ireland Little, and Tyson Fontenot; great-grandchildren, Liam Josey, Miles Josey, Preslynn Thompson, Drelynn Thompson, Oliver Scott, and Noah Scott; siblings, Robert Thompson of Silsbee; Pat Hollister and her husband, Ron, of Silsbee; and Reverend Tim Thompson and his wife, Krisha, of Pitkin, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Joe Knott of West Columbia; and sister-in-law, Jean Thompson of Silsbee.  He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Thompson; brother, Charles Thompson; and sister, Linda Knott.

A gathering of L.D.’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Monday, October 31, 2022, at First Pentecostal Church, 1420 North 5th Street, Silsbee.  His interment will follow at R.S. Farmer Cemetery, Silsbee.
