Donald Gordon Smith
Donald Gordon Smith, 99, of Beaumont, died Friday, January 7, 2022. He was born January 24, 1922, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, to Zelma Mae Drake Smith and Benjamin Conard Smith.
Donald was a life member of Texas and National Federation of Music clubs. He retired from Mobil Oil as an operator after over thirty-nine years of service. Donald was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Beaumont, where he was a member of John Land Sunday School class. He enjoyed traveling with Mary extensively, all around the county and Canada, going to Europe once.
He is survived by his sons, Reverend Patrick Smith, Sr. and his wife, Vickie, of Brenham; Richard Smith and his wife, Patricia, of Kingwood; Gordon Smith and his wife, Chrys, of Surfside, California; daughters, Janet Perisho of Richardson; Trudy Johnson and her husband, James, of Beaumont; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Bell of Rockwall; brother, David Smith of Grayville, Illinois; numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by wife of seventy-two years, Mary Eudelle Smith and daughter, Nancy Lee Ritter.
Donald’s cremation arrangements were handled under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
I was saddened to hear of Mr. Smith’s passing, but happy he is in heaven reunited with his beloved wife, Mary, and daughter Nancy. My thoughts and prayers to all his family and friends. God bless you all!
Don is preceded in death by his wife of over 70 years, Mary Eudelle Smith and daughter Nancy Ritter. Much love to my dear grandparents and beautiful mother! Love you so very much!
