Donald Ray Russum

October 30, 1942 - January 9, 2023

Donald Ray Russum, 80, of Lumberton, died Monday, January 9, 2023. He was born on October 30, 1942, in Mississippi, to Evie Blanche Wiggins and John Henry Russum.

Donald retired from the Beaumont Rice Mill and Truck Driving. He loved to fish and dance. Donald was one of the Chili Cooker’s at St. Mark’s for their annual chili dinner. He volunteered at Some Other Place every Thursday.

Survivors include his daughter, Dianne Patton and her husband, Robert, of Jacksonville, Florida; significant other, Sue Xanna Reid of Lumberton; bonus daughter, Karen Carlton and her husband, Stacey; bonus son, Bobby Schweitzer; bonus granddaughter, Brittney Bres and her husband, Dylan; bonus great-granddaughter, Adelyn Espino and bonus great-grandson, Quinn Bres; twin brother, Ronald Russum and his wife, Pre; and brother, Burdell Russum and his wife, Dionne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmy Russum; and sister, Kathleen Netherland.

A gathering Mr. Russum’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his memorial service to follow at  2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
