Doreen Nichols

Doreen Ann Nichols, 67, of Missouri City, Texas, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026. She was born in Hope, Arkansas, to Elmer Smith and Helen Powell.

Doreen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for the love she had for her family and the kindness she showed to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Doreen is survived by her husband of 28 years, Lynn Nichols; children, Jamie McKeown and husband, Ron, Beth Phillips and significant other, Christian Fisher, Tony Phillips and wife, Carley, and David Phillips and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Kaitlin Baggett, Ashlyn Baggett, Madison Baggett, Dyson Sonnier, Jocelyn Fisher, Kayleigh McKeown, Abby McKeown, Brooke McKeown, Scarlett Anderson, Sophia Phillips, and Elijah Rodriguez; sister, Teena Smith; lifelong friend, Athena Ferrell; in-laws, Vickie Mills and husband, Monty, Charlie Nichols and wife, Wendy, and Tina Fagen and husband, Wayne; and nieces and nephews, John Porter and wife, Christy, Michael Porter and wife, Kristin, Josh Porter and wife, Deidra, Amber Everett and husband, Jason, and Tara Landry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Smith and Helen Powell; maternal grandparents, Harvey and Vestie Powell; and paternal grandparents, Albert and Cora Smith.

A gathering of Mrs. Nichols’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4330 Crow Road, Beaumont. Her entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
