Doris Jean Ingram

June 6, 1938 - January 7, 2023

Doris Jean Ingram, 84, of Evadale, died Saturday, January 7, 2023.  She was born on June 6, 1938, in Hazard, Kentucky, to Samantha Young Haddix and Thomas Haddix.

Doris was always laughing and enjoyed a good joke.  She was also an excellent cook.  Her family loved her chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, fried pork chops, and biscuits and gravy.  Doris loved cookies, strong coffee, and trips to the casino, but her most favorite thing was being involved in her grandkid’s activities.  Doris will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and Maw Maw.

Survivors include her daughters, Patty Presley and Terri Slone and her husband, Lloyd, all of Evadale; Samantha Graber and her husband, Paul, of Lumberton; and Melissa Taylor and her husband, Robert, of Buna; sons, Ray Ingram, Jr. of Houston and Corbett Ingram and his wife, Shandolyn, of Evadale; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of forty-seven years, Ray Ingram; and ten siblings.

A gathering of Doris’ family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Morse Cemetery, Buna.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mill Creek Nursing Home, 1105 Highway 418 West, Silsbee, Texas 77656.
