Dorothy Jean Baker
Dorothy Jean Baker, 86, of Church Point, Louisiana, died June 20, 2024. She was born on May 14, 1938, in Palestine, Texas, to Nanny Mae Batchelor and Ferris Batchelor.
Dorothy loved the Lord and enjoyed reading, watching movies, drinking coffee, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was also a very good cook.
Survivors include sons, Jimmy Baker, Jr., and his wife, Shelia, Frank Baker, Paul Baker, and his wife Connie, Billy Baker, and his wife, Cathy; step-sons, Ronnie Baker and his wife Debbie, Frank Madero, and his wife Helen; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Lindsey, and her husband, Wayne; brother, Dean Patrick.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmy Baker, Sr.; her parents; son, David Baker; brothers, Billy, Frank, and Gerald Batchelor.
A gathering of Mrs. Baker’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 24, 2024, at Broussard’s. Her interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Baker’s honor may be made to First Baptist Church, 117 Van Ostrand Lane, Stowell, Texas 77661.

I’m so very sorry your loss. I have so many memories from my childhood of both Mrs. Baker & Mr. Baker & all you boys. Seems like we were always together. I hate that I won’t be able to attend her service. My husband’s aunt passed away & we’ll be in Baton Rouge.
