Dorothy Marie Purvis

Dorothy Marie Purvis, 64, of Cleveland, died Wednesday, July 17, 2024.  She was born on May 4, 1960, in Woodville, to Lola Mae Smith Perkins and Webster Perkins Sr.

Survivors include her children, Heather Letney and her husband, Josh, of Cleveland; Michael Whittle and his wife, Lisa, of Silsbee; Elaina Letney and her husband, Chris, of Jasper; and Richard Whittle and his wife, Tracey, of Splendora; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Sabrina, Christopher and Asiah, Dylan and Sabrina, Patrick and Summer, CJ and Allie, Faith and Kousik, Alexandra and Clifford, Lilly, Kaylie, JJ, Blake, Tyler, Michael, Hunner, RJ, Jace, Brice, MacKenzie, and Kayden; seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry Perkins and his wife, Vivian, of Houston; Louise Miller and her husband, Kenny, of Jasper; Steve Perkins and his wife, Cheryl, of Evansville, Indiana; Melinda Crawford and her husband, Mike, of Silsbee; and Robert Perkins, of Silsbee; sister-in-law, Patricia Perkins and brother-in-law, John Farvor, both of Silsbee; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Lola & Webster Perkins; and siblings, Elizabeth Ann Keene and husband, Oliver; Buddy Perkins; and Pauline Farvor; and grandchild, Emiley Grace Whittle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.

Mrs. Purvis’s cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.

    I worked with Dorothy at Dogwood Tralis. She talked about her family often. You meant the world to her.

    I worked with Dorothy at Holiday Pines Nursing and Rehab in Woodville. I’m sorry to hear of her passing. I pray God gives her family the strength to carry on without her. I know she is missed. I enjoyed working with her.
