Doug McKey
Elmer “Doug” Douglas McKey, 93, of Austin, died Sunday, February 13, 2022. He was born on February 27, 1928, in Athens, to Ruby Lee Christopher and Tomas Hunter McKey. Doug was a United States Army veteran and he retired as an operator from the gas and oil industry.
Survivors include his son, David McKey and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Grant and Drew McKey, all of Austin; nieces, Marilyn Weller and husband, David and Sharon LeDoux; and nephews, Bill McKey, Jr. and Jim McKey.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Clover McKey; and brothers, Bill and James McKey.
The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to Caroline Wells for her loving care and compassion.
Mr. McKey’s funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, with his interment to follow at Memory Gardens-Jefferson County, Nederland.
