Dr. Oton Maya Arroyo

Dr. Oton Maya Arroyo, 86, of Beaumont, died Friday, December 11, 2020. He was born on July 1, 1934, in Guayaquil, Ecuador to Zoila Luz Arroyo Mejia and Jose Ignacio Maya Estrada. 

He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Cecilia Yanez Maya Arroyo; son, Ricardo Maya and his wife, Sandra; daughter, Grace Black and her husband, Dr. Jorge Black; son, Oton Maya and his wife, Karla; step-daughter, Cecilia Ramirez and her husband, Hector; stepson, Julio Ramirez; grandchildren, Denise Maya, Fernanda Maya, Pamela Maya, Ricardo Maya, Adriana Maya, George Hill, John Hill, Emily Hill, Cecilia Black, Grace Black, Suany Maya, David Maya, Daniel Maya, Serena Maya, and Javier Barco; thirteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Zoila Maya Arroyo and Margarita Maya Arroyo; brothers, Jaelton Maya Arroyo and Jose Maya Arroyo; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Rafael Ramirez; and brother, Nicanor Maya Arroyo. 

A graveside service for Dr. Maya Arroyo will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Hardin Memorial Park, Silsbee, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
