Drake Frazier

April 14, 1998 - November 13, 2021

Drakes Story from his father Eddie:

When Drake was born, he was the best baby, he slept all night and had a head full of hair.  He always wanted to be by myside. As long as I can remember he would always hand me tools and like to ride everything. He wore the tire off his electric four-wheeler.  He played all sports when he was little, he really liked baseball and football the most. When he was going into little league, he moved up to majors his first year because he could throw from the fence in outfield all the way home. But his true love and passion was riding four wheelers and fishing. We would go out in the bay behind the house and wade. He liked to duck hunt and just being a boy.  His mom bought him a truck with he was 15 that he drove everywhere and put 10,000 miles on it before he got his driver’s license.  He loved all his trucks. He wanted a truck to go as fast as a mustang.  But like most boys they can tear up a truck.  We had to sell his F250 after it blew up.  Then he got Earl, an old F250 no turbo, he hated that truck and always had to work on it.

When Drake moved to Fannett, he started working at Bayou Din on mowers and tractors.  He really liked it and would work every day that Justin would allow him. The day of graduation practice he took the ExxonMobil test. He then worked for DD6, where he learned to drive articulating dump trucks, then went on to drive the big dozers. Even if they rained out, he would go to the main shop and work on equipment.  Then on his 19th birthday, he got the call from ExxonMobil.  He was so happy to be going to work with the rest of the family.  He was so proud. We all were so proud to add another to our “Hatcher Oil” family. Once again, he worked all he could. Drake always said I may not have Hatcher blood, but I feel like I do.

Drake finally could buy that Ranger he wanted.  He would go on to build 4 or 5 versions of it.  The thought was always go bigger and that’s what he did.  He would go riding in Crosby all the time then moved on to Burkeville.  He was always working to improve it, make it bigger and louder.  The buggy was the biggest around and loud and he loved it.  Drake finally told me and Kristie to go riding with the gang.  It was so much fun.  We had a blast and my son had me hooked.  We went twice this year with him, and it was so much fun.  I put a big lift on my Ranger that of course he had to buy and put it on.  I think we all know; Drake knew best.  We worked on it and got it the way he wanted to have it.  It was the last big project we worked on together.

The day he had moved to Fannett we were pouring slab for the shop.  He helped weld it up so we could all live in it while we built our house.  He would always tell everyone he welded up everything.  He was my son, and I was so proud of him.  He would do anything for anybody.  He dreamed of a house, a shop, and kids.  We were so close, the love of his life, Keily Allen, was already a daughter to us and now it was time to make it official.  Drake loved life, loved his family, loved his friends and his Keily Lynn.

This is Kristie, Drake brought completion to my life. There are so many memories, late night talks on the porch, parties, the hot tub, the pool, the boys, the girls, the noise, the tools, the fun, the trips, his smile, his voice, his laugh, his love. We loved watching him work. He was an amazing young man with so much life to live. I miss him more than words could ever say. Drake was our oldest, the mentor to his brothers. Grady and Delino looked up to him and confided in him. I love you Drake Evan Frazier. I am always here for you, always and forever.

Drake left behind me and Kristie, Jennifer and Grady. His sister Eden, brothers; Dylan, Grady, Delino and Gaven.  The boys loved him even when he called them names. Drake wanted to teach them everything. His grandparents; Wayne and Stacy Hatcher, Dale Gallier, Floyd Lafour, Donna Barber. Great grandparents; Yvonne Hatcher, Patsy Schroeder, Ginny Knowles. The list of Aunts/Uncles/Cousins and Friends would be more than this computer could handle.

Drake E. Frazier, 23, went to be with at home in Heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Saturday, November 13, 2021.  He grew up in Beach City, Texas and resided in Fannett.  Drake was loved beyond measure by all who knew him. He was born with a knack for building things and a love of all things outdoors especially ATV off roading.  Drake was an employee of ExxonMobil in Baytown as an operator.

He is survived by his parents Jennifer and Grady Barber of Mont Belvieu, and Eddie and Kristie Frazier of Fannett; brother and sister Dylan and Eden Frazier of Mont Belvieu; stepbrother Gaven Barber of Mont Belvieu and stepbrothers Grady and Delino Doucet of Fannett along with a tremendous extended family of grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and close friends. The list of those that knew and loved Drake is unending.

Drake was born on April 14, 1998, in Houston, Texas. He was born and raised in Memorial Baptist Church in Baytown where he was dedicated as a baby. In his youth he worshipped at Old River Baptist Church where he accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized.  He grew up hunting and fishing, participating in basketball and football and riding four wheelers.  Drake spent his time outdoors helping his dad in the shop building things, repairing motors, rebuilding ATVs and trucks.

All his life Drake spent much of his time outside with his dad, brother and friends hunting, fishing, and working on everything from boat motors to four wheelers.  Drake was always there when called upon and would give you the shirt off his back.  As his mom was proud to take him everywhere as a child.  At four weeks old he was with me in the real estate office going to showings, listings and closings and did so throughout his childhood and teen years.  As a student at BH Drake was with me in the high school for tech trainings, on the football field and in the library for every school event and more from the time he was walking.  As an athletic child Drake participated in many sports including football, baseball, and basketball where his coach on many of the little league teams including his dad which made him very proud.

As his mom I will always be able to clearly see Drake and feel him as that precious first-born baby in my arms. I can picture every feature of him so clearly from the angle of his gaze, every precious mole and freckle, his long fingers, the fuzz on his arms by his elbows, his stance and the way he walked, the way he would rub his crossed feet and ankles together when he was sitting, the exact way his lips would pucker when he spoke, his beautiful big smile, to his thick head of curly brown hair. I remember how he would call me “me-ma”. Drake was every breathe we took and was a caring, kind and precious little boy.  I will remember him and his brother and their friends Carl and Kyle playing in the mud and growing up riding four wheelers up and down Point Barrow Road.  His Sunday School teacher Jennie Chatham at Memorial still reminds me of how sweet and happy he was and how special Drake was to everyone who knew him from then until now.  As a young teen he was very close to Coach Zach Whitaker at Old River who spent quality time with Drake sharing the gospel and was there for him as he began to grow into a young adult.  Our dear family friend Ralph reminds us of how as a boy Drake offered to work for him on a trailer that day, all they did and counted out the hours and pay and how intelligent and hardworking he was even back then.  As Drake’s mom I have always so proud of him and loved him and his brother and sister unconditionally.  I could not be prouder of Drake and his excellent work ethic and dedication to his job at Exxon and every job he had.  I have cherished each moment with these children and will remember every moment God gave me with Drake on this earth as I wait to see him again with Jesus.  Reading notes, he had in his Bible I believe Drake would want everyone to know the love of Jesus. In one special note he wrote about Jesus, “He has the answers to everything…He is the friend you won’t ever lose, the one who will never do you wrong.” We love you Drake, and we will honor you in our lives until we see you again.

    Katy Frazier says:

Sweet Drake- I have many wonderful memories of you, I will hold in my heart. In many ways the 3 of y’all were my kids, before I had kids. (Our practice kids.. ☺️) You and Dylan could talk your Uncle Kerry into anything (as kids & adults). I adored that you were unapologeticly old fashioned, and hard working. I am comforted, as I was blessed to witness your baptism and we had conversations over the years that let me know you felt strong in your profession of faith. In many ways your heart was too big for this world. I know you are now in perfect peace, a peace that seemed to elude you in life. – All My Love -Aunt Katy
