Duy Anh Tran

Duy Anh Tran, 24, of Sour Lake, died Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Christus Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born December 4, 1996, in Beaumont, to Vicky Thuy Jackson and Kenny Tran. Duy was a United States Army veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Vicky Jackson and her husband, Will Jackson, of Beaumont; father, Kenny Tran, of Beaumont; fiancé, Nicole Richard; daughters, Faith Sullivan, Madeline Sonnier, and Lilith Tran, all of Sour Lake; brother, Khoa Anh Tran; cousin, Trang Truong; uncles, David Shaw and Gordy Shaw, both of Florida; aunts, Melinda Shaw of Florida, Holly Shaw of Florida, and Amy Shaw of Colorado; and a host of cousins in Florida and family in Vietnam.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Thi Tran.

A gathering of Duy’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

    My kids Alexis, Tristin & Justin were friends with Duy all through school. My heart aches and grieves for his loss. He will always be one of ‘my boys”. He was a blessing and will be greatly missed. Hugs to all of his family.

    I was Duy Tran’s Platoon Sergeant when he was on active duty at FT Riley Kansas 1-16 INF. He was a good Soldier and good at his job. He will truly be missed. Keeping the family in my prayers.
