Eddie Marcantel

September 13, 1958 - March 4, 2022

Eddie W. Marcantel, 63, of Groves, died Friday, March 4, 2022, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. He was born September 13, 1958, in Groves, to Betty Brady Marcantel and Elwood John Marcantel.

Eddie was a United States Army veteran. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, cars, and hunting. He was also an avid John Wayne fan. Eddie loved to watch old westerns and black and white movies. Above all else, he adored his family especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Joshua Marcantel and wife, Saskia, of Germany; grandsons, Aaron and Paul Marcantel; fiancé, Veronica Messina, of Nederland; brother, Steve Marcantel, of Port Arthur; sisters, Roxanne Boudreaux and husband, Gordon, of Orangefield and Karen Standley, of Nederland; brotherhood of military friends, 1st Sgt. Mike Burke, C.S.M. Ricky Pring, 1st Sgt. Larry Pollard, 1st Sgt. William Clark, James Cook, and doghandler, Ryan Rink; and many other military friends and a host of special childhood and school friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ronnie and Randy Marcantel.

A gathering of Mr. Marcantel’s family and friends will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Church, 4100 Lincoln Avenue, Groves. His committal will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
