Edson “Danny” Hammel
Edson “Danny” Hammel, age 71, gave up his spirit to his Lord and Savior on July 3, 2022. He was born in Beaumont, Texas on August 23,1950.
He was so lovingly cared for by his niece Teresa and her husband Elgin Lee.
Danny loved going to the beach on Bolivar peninsula, watching old westerns with a few of his good friends, collecting miniature cars and just about anything he thought was worth collecting. He loved the challenge of working on something that had been discarded or that he picked up from garage sales and thought he could repair. Danny had an old pick-up truck with over 200,000 miles on it that he loved tinkering with.
He had a very engaging personality, always wanting to help those who were down on their luck. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his sister Ginger Funk, brother Tony Lisotta, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Also, his dog Ginger, whom he loved so much and never left his side.

Mr. Hammel’s cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
Danny’s life ment something to me. Knowing him for only 5 yrs. . He was very happy . He was very kind. And he was very smart man. We could sit for hours talking about anything. You will be missed and loved by many. Till we meet again.

Danny will always be a friend and will be in my though and prayers, I remembers when I took the picture on his front porch. A lot of good times and memory. He will missed, what a lost.

Danny, I love you so much and miss you so much already. Your crazy stories you would tell me and the kids about your childhood made us all laugh. You were so kindhearted, never met a stranger and always willing to help anyone that was less fortunate than you. I looked forward to your phone calls to hear about your day. You were always thanking Elgin and I for anything we had helped you with. Very appreciative and never asking for anything. When you left this world so unexpectedly I know one thing for sure, you and I had a special love for each other. Yes I’m grieving your loss but knowing we had that special bond, makes my heart happy.
