Efren Apagalang Cava

Efren Apagalang Cava, 76, of Kountze, died Saturday, April 4, 2026. He was born on August 31, 1949, in Iba Zambales, Philippines, to Arsenia San Miguel Cava and Roberto Cayabyab Cava. He was a proud retired United States Navy veteran.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carolina Cava; children, Marie Lemi and her husband, Eduardo, of San Francisco, California; Racquel Cosares and her husband, Ryan, and Efren Cava, Jr. and his wife May, both of San Francisco, California; Sherill Macaraeg and her husband, Enrico, Catherine Cava Decano, and Carlo Cava and his wife, Ella, all of the Philippines; and Sheila Overstreet and her husband, Kris, of Lumberton; seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nellie Aloang; Wilma Sarmento; Lorna Quinones; Nila Dispo and her husband, Cito; Nestor Cava; Oscar Cava and his wife, Thelma; Renato Cava and his wife, Juliet; and Ely Baugan and her husband, Selvestre.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Nenita Esposo.

A gathering of Efren’s family and friends will be 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.
