Elizabeth Ann Peavey
Elizabeth Ann Peavey was born December 20, 1929, to Leonora and A.J. Peters and spent her childhood years in Temple, Texas. She graduated from Temple High School and continued her studies with a major in Art and Fashion Design at Southwestern University. During her years as a student, a handsome scholar by the name of Robert Peavey, caught her eye. The two fell in love and later married on April 15, 1950; ultimately she became a mother to five children: Bill, Donna, Frances, Bryan, and Robert (Bubba). From birth until her passing there was one constant, her kind and gentle spirit.
Elizabeth was a gifted artist from an early age, specializing in portraits, still lifes and landscapes. However, her inclination toward the arts was not restricted to solely painting, she was also a proficient writer and seamstress, she delighted in creating the latest fashions for Donna and Frances complete with covered shoes and paper mache jewelry to match. She didn’t stop there; Bill had a matching western shirt with Pearl snaps and fringed sleeves. She had a passion for home decor and invested her time in details of various projects. Later in her life, Elizabeth developed a hobby out of antiquing and browsing estate sales for unique items.
She passed away on the afternoon of January 10, 2017, surrounded by her family in Beaumont, Texas. She lived a gracious life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is preceded in death by the love of her life Robert Peavey, and her brother Millard Peters.
