Elizabeth Thompson
Elizabeth Thompson born March 7, 1944, in Jeanette, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth went on to glory and into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, February 8, 2026 passing away in Beaumont, Texas after a long illness. Betty, as she was known to friends, lived a wonderfully happy life and married her only husband, Thomas Thompson, who preceded her in death in October 2016. They happily shared forty-five years of marriage. Thomas and Betty Thompson married in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania in December 1969. After Thomas, Tom as he was known to his friends, was laid off from Cities Services (CITGO) in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1981, the Thompsons moved to Beaumont, Texas where Tom worked as engineer for Mobil, now ExxonMobil, with their three young children. Betty traveled the world prior to having children where her husband was an engineer for multiple oil companies across the globe.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, Dorothy Buckley; father, Daniel of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; as well as her only son, Todd Thompson, who died March 1994 in Beaumont, Texas.
Her living relatives are Tina Thompson-Spangler and her son-in-law, Derek Spangler, of Beaumont, Texas and Monica Thompson of Austin, Texas. She adored her three grandchildren, Devyn Thompson, Trinity Spangler and Penelope Fisher. All of whom she loved spending quality time with.
Betty brightened the day of all those who knew her and was generous in both spirit and presence and will be extremely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her in life.
Cremation arrangements for Mrs. Thompson were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
