Ellis Michael “Mike” Frank

Ellis Michael (“Mike”) Frank passed away May 31, 2023, at the age of 84, in his home in Beaumont, Texas, surrounded by his loving family and caregivers.

Mike was born on May 27, 1939, in Pilot Point Texas.  Mike was adopted at the age of 16 days by Ellis and Gladys Frank of Beaumont, Texas. He was raised in their wonderful loving home and graduated from French High School in 1957. He met his wife, Lynda Parker of Kirbyville, Texas, in January 1959, and they were married June 25, 1960.

Mike enrolled in Lamar State College of Technology and joined the Army Reserves. He served in the Army Reserves for five years, spending time each summer at Fort Hood.  He reached the rank of Sargent 1st class, and was honorably discharged.  Mike graduated from Lamar State College of Technology in May 1962 with a BBA in Accounting, and became a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) in February 1967.

His corporate roles in Beaumont included Controller for Jefferson Amusement Company, Servomation and Conn Appliance.  His most rewarding days and true passion was revealed at accounting firms preparing tax returns and consulting with his many clients who became friends. Mike continued to serve his clients as partner with Edgar, Kiker and Cross, until his retirement on January 1, 2007.

He was an active member of the Young Men’s Business League (“YMBL”), where he served as Chairman of the YMBL Rodeo in 1987, Chairman of the South Texas State Fair in 1988 and YMBL President in 1993, along with other board positions.  Mike was an active member of the Southeast Texas Chapter of CPAs, and served as the Chapter’s President in 1998-1999.

Mike and Lynda moved from Beaumont in 2010 to Rayburn Country in Brookland, Texas.  Mike enjoyed golfing, and never missed an opportunity to play the courses at Rayburn, or anywhere they would go.   They met many new friends and became active in their church, Lake Rayburn United Methodist Church, where Mike was a member of the choir.  In October 2022, they moved back to Beaumont.

Mike and Lynda, along with their two children, Stacie Lynn (Frank) Lambert and Michael “Stewart” Frank, enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling with their friends and families, with annual trips to New Braunfels, the Guadalupe River, Garner State Park and the Frio River.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Frank and Gladys Frank. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lynda Frank; daughter, Stacie Lynn Lambert and husband, Paul, of College Station, Texas; son, Michael Stewart Frank and wife, Jocelyn, of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Lambert and fiancée, Brian Ehsani, of College Station, Texas; Peter Michael Lambert of St. Louis, Missouri; and Paul Allen Lambert of College Station, Texas; sisters-in-law, Jerry Parker of San Antonio, Texas and Priscilla Rouse of Beaumont, Texas; cousin, Martha Jane Zaruba of Boerne, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Mr. Frank’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 5, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Broussard’s, Beaumont, with his inurnment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the nurses with Trinity Hospice, along with all the loving caregivers with Montibello Home Care.
