Faith in Christ and love for her family were the most important things in Elsie’s life. She was a master seamstress who enjoyed making clothes for her children when they were young and even formals and wedding dresses as the girls were older. Other hobbies included crocheting Afghans, which she gave as gifts throughout the years to all her children. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden and had quite the green thumb with many varieties of plants. Elsie was known for her homemade biscuits and various jellies and fig preserves. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, and “Gammy”.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Gould and her husband, Doyle, of Lumberton; Jennifer Becks and her husband, Jimmy, of Beaumont; Darla Pollard of Beaumont; and Nan Sutton and her husband, Robert, of Fannett; son, Ross Kennett and his wife, Lyn, of Beaumont; son-in-law Ronnie Shuler; grandchildren, Sonia Arndt and her husband, Byron; Kevin Gould; Dawn Senters and her husband, Todd; Wesley Shuler; Carly Galmor and her husband, Dustin; Stacey Crenshaw and her husband, Casey; Shannon Metz and her husband, Phillip; and Matthew Broussard; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Brooke and husband, Aaron, Kaitlin, Shane, T.J., Ethan, Hailey and husband Jaron, Cynthia, Sabrina, Bella, Daisy, Lily, Vaille, Clara, Case, Becks, Alexus, and Diesel; four great-great-grandchildren, Zaden, Jesslyn, Dillon and Lucas; and numerous other loving relatives and friends including her lifelong friend, Patricia Hord, who she loved like a sister. I didn’t know your mom, Nan, but to have raised such a wonderful daughter, she must’ve been very special. Praying for comfort and strength for you and your family ❤️

    Patricia Jordan-Hord says:

Elsie and I met when I was eight and she was 17. We met at Sabine Tabernacle where both our families attended. We loved shopping and spending time together. Over the many years we kept close. Visited often even though we lived away from Beaumont. Sometimes we were even pregnant together. AND she did love her babies. All six of them.! And grandkids plus great grans.
What a joy she and her family have been to me. From the beginning she always treated me like I was her sister, and neither of us had a sister.
For the last twenty years we have tried to get together every three months.
She will be sorely missed ! I love her and know where she is so we can plan on meeting her when Jesus returns.
