Ernest Wilson Bost

November 30, 1940 - February 28, 2023

Ernest Wilson Bost, also known as “Buddy” by his family and “The Artist” by his many clients, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Christus Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, on November 30, 1940.

Ernest went to Port Arthur Schools, TJ-Thomas Jefferson and Lamar University for accounting and commercial art. He got a job at Texaco in 1969 and worked there until he retired. He went to seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana and pastored several churches in the Port Arthur/Midcounty area.

Ernest married Wyona Borel in 1969, in Nederland, and had three children from that union.

He is survived by his children, Kimberly Walker and her husband, Tom, Kenneth Bost and his wife, Britney, and Kevin Bost, all of Vidor; sister, Mary Ellen Foster of Vidor; brother, Ronnie Bost and wife, Gayle, of Groves; Jerry Adolph Bost of Houston; George Wilson Bost, Jr., and Sylvia Jean Bost, of Newport News, Virginia; grandchildren, Ashley Meaux and husband, Cody; Travis Walker and wife, Amber; Kathryn Bost; Garrett Bost; Marissa Bost; Madison Perkin; and Cloie Haure; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Meaux and Jeffrey and Natasha Walker.

His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

    Mr. Boat was always such a kind man. He painted many picture of homes for me. I would give them to my clients at closing.. He also painted a picture for me of my 2 sons and husband at Chain of Lakes. fishing. It takes us back to a sweet memory.

    I am so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. His picture of my husband’s family home in Greece is proudly displayed in our kitchen and hopefully will be passed on from generation to generation in our family.
