Estella LeDay
Estella LeDay, 87, of Winnie, died Friday, January 7, 2022, at Riceland Medical Center. She was born May 23, 1934, in Mallet, Louisiana, now known as Lawtell, Louisiana, to Anastasia and Goldman Guillory.
Estella was affectionately known as “Nan Sis” on her side of the family and as “Anastell” on her husband’s side. She enjoyed cooking and zydeco music. She especially loved the rose garden she had in front of her house.
Survivors include her children, Anatole LeDay, Jr. and wife, Judy, of Rayne, Louisiana; Anthony LeDay and wife, Marie, of Beaumont; Michael LeDay and wife, Claudette, of San Diego, California; Daniel LeDay and wife, Faye, of Winnie; and Theresa LeDay-Freeman, of Dallas; grandchildren, Daphanie; Mia; Anatole III; Johnathan; Taneshah; Joseph; Danalicia; Gwendolyn; Shalandra; Aaron; Anthony; Alden; Alex; Denise; Jacquise; and JáReese; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Laura Guillory and Ella E. Fontenot.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anatole LeDay, Sr.; daughter, Charlene Marie LeDay; and eight siblings.
A gathering of Mrs. LeDay’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2022, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Reverend Anthony LeDay, Sr. will officiate closing prayer. Her interment will take place at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Lawtell, Lousiana. The family requests that all attendees wear a mask to be permitted entry to Mrs. LeDay’s gathering.
