Ethel Pellerin Moreau
Ethel Theresa (Pellerin) Moreau died May 27, 2025. Ethel was born and raised in Port Arthur, Texas.
A 1950 Thomas Jefferson High School graduate, she attended Port Arthur College. Ethel was employed by the Texas Company (Texaco) business office. Ethel and Berkley married in 1952. Ethel and Berkley made their home in Nederland and retired in Fannett, Texas on the bayou. A faithful Catholic, Ethel was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catholic Daughter’s of America, and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Ethel was a dedicated wife and mother to her seven children. Ethel was open-minded, kind, and compassionate. She lived her life in gratitude for her children and her entire family.
Ethel is survived by her children, Phyllis Baker; Eileen Rhodes and her husband, Larry; Maureen Lovelady; Derrick Moreau and his wife, Kim; Theresa Stevenson and her husband, Bruce; Kermit Moreau and his wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Haylee, Chandon, and Alexa Hartje; Natalie, Chase, and Riley Butaud; Erin, Jessica, Rhett, and Sutton Lemoine; Grant, Britton, Banks, and Palmer Lovelady; Katie Moreau; Michael and Jill Moreau; Rachel and Tim Force; Callan and Jake Gallup; Leah, Giovanni, Jude, and Louis Stroik; Jake and Audrey Moreau; Trevor, Raelee, Briggs, and Lillie Hartje; and in-laws, Carolyn Couvillion and Wiley Moreau, Jr.
Ethel was preceded in death by parents, S.I., Sr. and Euphrasie Pellerin; sister, Betty LeBlanc; brother, S.I. Pellerin, Jr.; husband, Berkley Moreau; daughter, Allison Moreau; and sons-in-law, Ben Baker and Victor Lovelady.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Carol Morgan, who was also a friend, Dolly McPhillips, Maria Pineda, Adilia Pineda, and Compassion Hospice.
Memorial contributions for Mrs. Moreau may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
A Rosary for Mrs. Moreau will be recited at 11:00 a.m., with a gathering of her family and friends to follow until her funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

To the Moreau family,
Your mom and dad were great friends with my mom and dad, Mary B and Ted Loupe. I can remember the gambling stories about their gambling trips to Louisiana (a made a few trips with them). The Moreau family is in my thoughts and prayers.
