Faye Hanley

July 3, 1932 - January 30, 2023

Faye Hanley, 90, of Port Neches, died January 30, 2023, at 2:49 p.m., in Nederland. She was born July 3, 1932, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Mac and Grace Sterling, and had been a resident of the area since 1953. Faye worked as a nurse’s assistant at Park Place Hospital for years.

Faye was all about her family, especially her boys and grandchildren. Her favorite thing to do was to take the grandkids to the hunting club. Whether hunting, picnicking, or roasting marshmallows, these were her favorite times. Faye enjoyed talking to her husband of sixty years about their beautiful family, taking them on trips, watching ball games, having her family over and making sure they were fed, painting with friends, and visiting with her younger sister, Ruth and her family.

She is survived by her son, Reggie Hanley and wife, Debbie of Nederland; daughters-in-law, Shawn Hanley Atkins of Lumberton and Dana Huff of Nederland; grandchildren, Jesse Morris; Shelby Morris; Trent Hanley; Alaina Lastovica; Trey Hanley; Kaitlin Cook; Kirby Hanley; and Hunter Huff; great-grandchildren, Logan Morris; Reagan Morris; Kaul Morris; Charlie Morris; Olivia Lastovica; Hayden Morris; Sophia Morris; Kayly Anderson; Lucy Anderson; Zoey Anderson; Brentley Stewart; Josiah Hanley; Elizabeth Cook; and Anderson Cook; and sister, Ruth Wells of DeRidder, Louisiana.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hershel Hanley; son, Rory Hanley; and brother, Donnell Sterling.

A gathering of Mrs. Hanley’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 3, 2023, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
