Gary Michael Snyder
Gary Michael Snyder, 60, of Lumberton, died Thursday, May 18, 2023. He was born on December 22, 1962, to Elizabeth Shattuck Snyder and Lawrence Snyder, in Massena, New York. Gary was one of ten children and remained a proud brother throughout all of his days.
Gary excelled in his studies throughout his schooling and then ventured on to serve his country in the United States Army. Gary was also very skilled in carpentry and was one of the hardest workers a person could meet. Eventually, these skills and experiences culminated in the success of his very own business in Southeast Texas- Gary’s Home Improvements.
Gary was a man of many words, who never met a stranger and thoroughly enjoyed taking care of his fellow man. Random acts of kindness were his specialty and truly fed his soul. He was a Yankee with a giant Texas heart.
This enormous caring heart guided him to his most impressive accomplishment; being a father. A role he stepped into so effortlessly and selflessly. He helped shape the lives of children who have grown into the adults that cherish all of the time he so generously invested. He will be remembered for his lengthy stories, his ability to fix all things, his unwavering love for Korean food and mostly his love for his family.
Until we meet again.
Survivors include his children, George Spencer, Misty Jones, and Michael Dufort; grandchildren, Austin Spencer, Aleesha Carreon, Antonio Spencer, Alexander Spencer, Peyton Farrow, Kendall Farrow, and Marley Farrow; and siblings, Edna Snyder, Janet Jolly, Rita Childs, Larry Snyder, Betty Premo, Angie Brooks, and Susan Nelson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeremiah Spencer; sister, Carroll Jean; and brother, Patrick Snyder.
Mr. Snyder’s memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
