Gary Wayne Phillips
Gary Wayne Phillips, 72, of Port Arthur, died Tuesday, March 18, 2025. He was born in Orange, on October 10, 1952, to Harold Vester Phillips and Shirley Mae Lacobie.
On July 11, 1977, Gary married the love of his life, Brenda. His hobbies included fishing, playing his drums, taking care of his yard, and spending time with his family. He loved grilling and making people laugh.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Phillips; daughters, Amber Owens and husband, Mitch, Monica McClintock and husband, Eric, and Kandi Simmons; grandchildren, Chase McClintock, Brady Owens, Logan Owens, Kayla McClintock, and Kate Schwartzenburg; aunt, Brenda Smith; and fur baby, Gracie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Phillips and Shirley Guidry, and brothers, Mike Phillips and Daniel Phillips.
A gathering of Mr. Phillips’ family and friends will be held at 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th, Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Phillips’ honor may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 88540, Carol Stream, Illinois 60188 or to St. Catherine School, 3840 Woodrow Drive, Port Arthur, Texas, 77642.
A great guy. Going to miss him and his wonderful times playing with the Mid County Players. Always friendly and full of fun. The best drummer around. . See you in Heaven Gary.

Much a great guy, really enjoyed visiting with Gary when Mid County Players plai at Tia Juanita’s.
My condolences to Gary’s family and friends.
I’ve known him for many years. I first met him at event
at the old KC hall. He and I were part of the band with
O J Gaspard playing for MHMR party for special needs adults and kids. Gary was a good and giving man.
He would do anything for you. He will be greatly missed.
