Geneva Barnes, our mother, sister, maw-maw, and friend to all. She was the third child of eleven children. Born on a twenty-acre farm in Fred, Texas. A loving sister and caretaker of all of her siblings. She was known for being a hard worker and could do anything from tilling and planting a garden, mowing, weed-eating, and edging the grass perfectly, launching a boat into the bayou, and good down-home cooking. She enjoyed going to the singles club, dancing, making new friends, and figuring out who she was kin to. Her greatest joy was her family. She touches our hearts in so many special ways.
