I just learned of Gen’s passing and I am so saddened. I met Gen at the senior center in Lumberton and we became good friends. We played cards together, sat by one another at lunch & sometimes went out to lunch together. I called her every week at the nursing facility until she could no longer take calls. She confided in me a lot and I know she had a wonderful loving family. She said her last surprise birthday party was one of the best days of her life.

    With our sincere condolences.
