    Rosanne Borque says:

We are so sorry to hear of George’s passing. My 97 year old grandmother Mary lives in the home next door to George and Caryl. George would come and sit on the back patio and visit with her quite often. She truly misses him.

    Tony Patrone says:

Caryl and Gooch family & relatives please accept my deepest sympathy and support for George. He reflected the best values & principles. I was privileged to know George when he served as on-site manager of process chemical services at MOTIVA’s Port Arthur, TX refinery. Can only say good things about him. Great sense of humor, easy-going, knowledgeable with wisdom to spare, willing to share time & thoughtfulness. Those recollections of George & his life will serve as continual encouragement long after this present sorrow.

    Bill Heiner says:

Prayers for George’s family. May your memories of George comfort you. I remember him from when we worked together in the Motiva refinery lab. God’s Blessings.

A better friend was never known.
    Til we meet again! Cinda

    Greg Simpson says:

I shared an office with George in an earlier life. I would go to lunch and when I got back, he would deliver typed phone messages to me. Who goes to that much trouble? He was incredibly well organized, and had the ability to focus on the essentials of doing business, while others were all over the place.
The thing that most impressed me was than in an earlier career, when George was head of sales in a company, and his boss told him to get rid of some of the salesmen that George valued, George quit that high level job rather than fire the salesmen.
He was a man of integrity and honesty, and I have valued him as a friend.

    Allen Stephenson says:

Glad to hear that story about what impressed you most about George is still going strong. I still tell it to this day although it happened almost 40 years ago when I was a teenager. My dad was one of those salesmen that George valued. My dad always remembered it and they ended up being lifelong friends.

My condolences to the family, it is very sad. I did not know George very well he was two years behind me. I graduated with his sister Faith, and I remember his dad, but everyone knew Ray.
I am so very sorry and sad.
