Gerald Patureau
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald “Jerry” Patureau, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, who left us on August 31, 2024. Jerry’s departure leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him.
Jerry Patureau was a pillar of kindness, grace, and love. Born on June 3, 1944, he dedicated over 50 years of his life to the grocery business, where his unwavering commitment and gentle demeanor earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and customers alike. His integrity and dedication were a testament to his character, and he took great pride in providing for his family and the communities in which he resided. Jerry proudly served as president of the Chamber of Commerce for the Bolivar Peninsula and president of the Retail Grocery Association among other organizations in the Golden Triangle area.
Jerry’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to Vickey Patureau, with whom he shared a partnership of love and mutual respect for over 60 years. Together, they built a nurturing and supportive home, raising their children with the same values of kindness and generosity that defined Jerry’s life. As a father, grandfather, and great grandfather he was a source of unconditional love and guidance, always ready with a warm embrace or a listening ear.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Victoria “Vickey” Patureau; his children, Ryan and Kay Patureau, Tammy Schilder, Kristi and Patrick Brice, Cheryl “DeeDee” Beatty; his grandchildren, Chris Patureau, Brandon and Katelyn Schilder, Logan and Ryan Stephenson, Joslyn Brice, Bishop Jones, Christian Schilder, Lizzie Brice, Shane Schilder, Trinity Brice; and his great grandson, Brantley Schilder, and a second one due in October.
Jerry Patureau will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched. His legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Jerry. You have left a lasting imprint on our hearts.
