Gerald Ray Williamson

September 10, 1936 - September 1, 2024

Gerald Ray Williamson, 87, of Lumberton, died Sunday, September 1, 2024.  He was born on September 10, 1936, to Nannie Faye Sturrock Williamson and Henry Carroll Williamson, in Hardin.

Mr. Williamson was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman.  He loved skiing, fishing, hunting and snowboarding and enjoyed cattle ranching and farming.  Even though he was a hunter, Mr. Williamson respected the animals and loved them all.  He was a collector and fan of antique cars and tractors and was very proud of his Model T.  Mr. Williamson was a City Councilman who also served as the Mayor of Lumberton.  He was a very caring, hardworking, and respected man who would give the shirt off his back for those in need.  Mr. Williamson was a very loving father and husband.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Williamson; children, Gerald Ray Williamson, Jr. of Kountze; Carroll Wayne Williamson of Lumberton; and Kimberley Martin and her husband, John, of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Erika Whipple and her husband, Bryan, of League City; Chris Williamson of Austin; Slade Williamson and his wife, Vanesa, of San Diego, California; Ashtin Williamson of San Marcos; Morgan Williamson of Kountze; and Cheyenne Browining and her husband, Mike, of Fannette; great-grandchildren, Poet Whipple, Indie Whipple; stepsons, Mark White and his wife, Kelli, of Lumberton; and Greg White and his wife, Dawn, of Lumberton; step-grandchildren, Matthew White and his wife, Carlee, of Baytown; Trenton White and his fiancée, Lexie, of Baytown; Cole White; Seth White; and Trace White, all from Lumberton.

Mr. Williamson is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Christina Williamson; and brother, Joe Carroll Williamson.

A gathering of Mr. Williamson’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Broussard’s, Silsbee.  His funeral service will begin at 9:00 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at Moss Hill Community Cemetery, under the directions of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
